What parents can observe
Parents can help a neurology consultation by noting what happened before, during and after an event, how long it lasted, whether the child was responsive, and how recovery occurred. A safely recorded video may be useful, but safety and urgent care always come first.
Why clinical context matters
Clinical decisions depend on the child’s age, development, examination and the exact pattern of symptoms. Online descriptions cannot confirm a diagnosis. If a child has a prolonged seizure, breathing difficulty, sudden severe weakness, significant loss of consciousness or another emergency, seek urgent medical care.
